Liverpool travelled to Falmer Stadium on Saturday to play Brighton and Hove Albion. Liverpool won their most recent game against Stoke City, and was looking to move up the Premier League table to fourth place. Brighton and Hove Albion were looking to stay in the mid table of the English league. Liverpool’s manager Klopp had a centre back dilemma since Matip had a hip injury, and Gomez and Klavan were down with colds. Klopp started with three centre backs: Lovren as the middle defender, Emre Can as the right defender, and Wijnaldum as the left defender. Robertson and Alexander-Arnold played as wingbacks.
Liverpool played this morning at 730am EST. A game that if you did wake up for it, I am sorry. It was all going well for Liverpool away at the Etihad. We were looking good, having a solid performance for the majority of the first half. In the 37th minute Gini Wijnaldum put a forward ball towards the top of the penalty box for Mane to go get. Ederson, the City goalkeeper, ran out to play the ball away from Mane. Mane in his attempt to get the ball went in with a high boot and kicked Ederson in the face.
