NHL Round 2 Comes to an End

NHL Round 2 Comes to an End

The second round of the NHL playoffs has officially come to an end, very depressing but full of surprises. Last night the Ducks used some elbow grease and dawn to wash away the oil in the game 7, 2-1 thriller. Newcomer Nick Ritchie the 21 year old netted the game winner in the third period. This without a doubt is a cause for celebration after letting Edmonton gain the upper hand the Ducks prevailed not to lose in another game 7. But there are still the Predators and all of #Predsnation ahead in the Western Conference Finals. The Penguins led by the slash attack of Sid the somewhat of a kid and Captain America himself Phatty Phil ousted 8 The Great and the Caps in a game 7 shutout, 2-0. Truly a sad night for the Caps, after being favorites to make the big push for the Cup and once again fail in the second round. Now we know Ovi will never get to wear a ring… or one that actually means anything to him.

But we now get to move on to the match ups no one saw coming Nashville v. Anaheim in the West and Karlsson v. Pittsburg in the East. In the Western Conference Finals we will see some great hockey on both sides as Subban, Neal and Pekka look to move forward and the Ducks make one final push to finally make it back to the Show. We should get a real exciting series out of them. But a different story in the East where Senators look to trap the Penguins out of another finals appearance and send Crosby home in tears. This series will be another slow and adaptive series as the Sens will probably sit on their own blue line and hope Karlsson will be able to stop some goals and maybe net one or two. Either way no one expected the Sens to be where they are and they still don’t deserve to be where they are. At least the Ducks put the Oilers back into their place as losers and we are one more step closer from keeping the cup out of Canada.
